Job Description
The role involves designing, developing, testing, and validating real-time control and optimization software for autonomous vehicles in a production environment, focusing on safety, reliability, and efficiency within the company's autonomous fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support real-time mission-critical software for autonomous vehicle control and optimization.
- Collaborate with research and engineering teams to develop maintainable, testable, and robust software solutions.
- Develop, design, and test control and optimization algorithms in simulation and in-vehicle environments.
- Support rapid prototyping of new methodologies through simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Participate in tuning, calibration, and in-vehicle testing of autonomous systems.
- Assist in visualization and analysis of test data to improve system performance.
- Coordinate with planning, localization, and testing teams for seamless software integration.
Requirements
- A MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or Computer Science with a background in controls and optimization.
- Deep understanding of optimal control, Model Predictive Control (MPC), and Kalman filtering.
- At least 5 years of production-level experience in C/C++ high and low level coding and Matlab Simulink.
- Experience using optimization techniques and tools solvers to create robust and performant controllers.
- Solid backgrounds in mathematics, linear algebra, vehicle dynamics modeling, and controls.
- At least 2 years of experience in the Autonomous Vehicles (AV) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) industries.
- Experience using source control, containerization, bash scripting, ROS2, CAN, Python, and Linux.
