Job Description
The Fleet Dispatcher at Gatik is responsible for coordinating and managing the autonomous vehicle fleet in real-time, ensuring smooth operations, safety compliance, and timely deliveries through effective communication and problem-solving during 12-hour shifts at the Fort Worth, TX location.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch autonomous vehicle operators (AVOs) and manage daily routes in real-time
- Monitor the status of dispatched vehicles and deliveries, providing updates and prioritizing tasks
- Serve as the primary contact for emergency and non-emergency communications, assessing situations and providing solutions
- Communicate delivery statuses, delays, and changes to clients proactively
- Escalate urgent issues and resolutions to supervisors and management promptly
- Track vehicle locations, freight progress, and estimated arrival times using fleet management software
- Ensure operational procedures, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance standards are followed
- Log operational data, including schedules, delays, and incidents, and escalate critical issues
- Maintain accurate records of work requests, customer requests, and operational events
- Generate reports on operational metrics and key events during shifts
Requirements
- Proven, high-volume experience as a dispatcher in the transportation, fleet, shipping, or logistics industry for at least 3 years.
- Knowledge and understanding of DOT FMCSA regulations as they relate to Hours of Service and general compliance.
- Highly proficient with modern communication and logistics tools, including order management systems, dispatching software, TMS Transportation Management System, and instant messaging platforms such as Slack and Zoom.
- Outstanding organizational skills, the ability to effectively multitask, and sound judgment for critical thinking and rapid decision-making under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and calmly to drivers, Autonomous Vehicle Operators (AVOs), and client personnel.
- Experience with fast, accurate data entry and a background in running reports or performing basic operational analytics.
- Must be able to work a full 12-hour shift, primarily on site at the Fort Worth, TX office near Alliance Airport.
- Flexibility and responsiveness to work possible overnight schedules as required.
