Job Description

The Autonomous Vehicle Operator is responsible for safely operating Gatik's box trucks on designated routes to ensure timely deliveries, collect route data to support autonomous technology development, and maintain safety and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate Class 3-7 delivery vehicles manually to ensure on-time deliveries and safety.
Drive assigned routes to collect data supporting the development of autonomous driving technology.
Assist with loading and unloading goods securely using appropriate equipment.
Perform routine vehicle checks to maintain safety and operational standards.
Update dispatch team on route and shift status.
Ensure timely arrival at pick-up and drop-off locations while maintaining cargo integrity.
Follow company SOPs and safety procedures during operations.
Collaborate with teams on route procedures and testing activities.

Requirements

Possesses a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with 3 years of driving experience.
Non-CDL candidates are also encouraged to apply, indicating flexibility in licensing requirements.
Maintains a clean driving record and successfully passes background and drug screenings.
Comfortable operating box trucks measuring 26 to 30 feet, with or without a refrigerated unit.
Demonstrates initiative, proactivity, and a strong focus on detail and safety.
Communicates clearly and collaborates effectively with team members and customers.
Thrives in independent work settings and displays a customer service orientation.
Tech-savvy and adaptable to varied shift schedules, including evenings, weekdays, and weekends.
Performs daily routine checks on trucks, including monitoring fluid levels, tire pressure, and hose connections.
Assists with safe, secure loading and unloading of goods using equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, dollies, lift gates, and handbombing.
Ensures vehicles arrive at pick-up and drop-off locations on time and that the integrity of goods is retained during each journey.
Safely operates vehicles in manual mode to support data collection for autonomous vehicle technology development.
Follows company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensures compliance with safe operation standards.
Displays physical ability to perform loading/unloading tasks and routine vehicle checks.
