Job Description
A Technical Consultant at Esri specializing in ArcGIS Enterprise systems, responsible for designing, deploying, migrating, and supporting enterprise GIS solutions with a focus on advanced deployment strategies such as high availability, disaster recovery, and Kubernetes, while collaborating with clients and internal teams to solve complex technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, migrate, and support ArcGIS Enterprise systems across various deployment environments (Windows, Linux, Kubernetes).
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, system recovery, disaster recovery, and proof of concept activities for ArcGIS Enterprise and databases.
- Lead and collaborate with clients and team members to ensure successful system implementations and upgrades.
- Apply knowledge of complementary technologies such as RDBMS, NoSQL, cloud infrastructure, and networking to support ArcGIS Enterprise solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences and guide best practices in system engineering and enterprise IT integration.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in implementing and supporting enterprise GIS systems.
- Experience in ArcGIS Enterprise administration.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting technical issues with server systems.
- Proven ability to consistently apply a systematic approach to system engineering based on best practices.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to customers, executives, other technical or non-technical staff.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related STEM field.
- Experience with deploying and supporting enterprise GIS systems on Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes platforms.
- Experience in deploying advanced ArcGIS Enterprise systems, including high availability, disaster recovery, and system recovery exercises.
- Experience with enterprise migration, system challenge resolution, troubleshooting, system recovery, and proof of concept for ArcGIS Enterprise and databases.
- Knowledge of technologies that complement ArcGIS Enterprise, such as RDBMS, NoSQL, object stores, SAN, NAS.
- Knowledge of server-side servicing stack models, authentication methods (native credentials, domain-based, SAML, OIDC), and networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, TLS).
