The role involves leading design projects, developing innovative concepts, mentoring emerging professionals, and building client relationships within a collaborative and sustainable design practice focused on creating impactful, living-centered solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead design projects by communicating and representing design goals to clients and teams, especially during early phases.
Partner with team members to co-lead visioning and set conceptual direction for projects.
Collaborate across all project phases to ensure high-quality design outcomes.
Create and oversee innovative design concepts that align with client culture, goals, and societal needs.
Prepare and direct the development of client presentation materials and visualizations.
Co-lead design presentations, focusing on storytelling to enhance client understanding.
Integrate performance-based and sustainable design strategies, including decarbonization and AIA 2030 commitments.
Contribute to external recognition efforts through publications and awards submissions.
Mentor and develop emerging professionals to foster a strong design culture and future leadership.
Recruit, retain, and build high-performance design teams.
Develop and maintain client relationships, build trust, and identify new business opportunities.
Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to bring in new work and achieve revenue targets.
Requirements
Bachelor or Master degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture required.
Minimum of 12 years of experience in related roles.
Current US Architectural Registration or Certified Interior Designer preferred.
Design portfolio of built and unbuilt work for which you were both primary and contributing designer, containing 3 or more fully constructed building designs representing a high level of design excellence.
Must have strong communication and presentation skills.
Must be able to understand and execute business strategy.
Must have professional acumen and maturity demonstrated by the ability to communicate authentically and respectfully.
