Job Description
A Technical Consultant at Esri will assist clients with deploying, migrating, and supporting ArcGIS Enterprise systems, focusing on advanced deployment strategies such as high availability, disaster recovery, and Kubernetes, while leveraging their expertise in enterprise IT and GIS technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, migrate, and support ArcGIS Enterprise systems across various deployment environments (Windows, Linux, Kubernetes).
- Perform advanced system troubleshooting, recovery, and disaster recovery exercises for ArcGIS Enterprise and related databases.
- Lead enterprise migration projects and implement system upgrades and enhancements.
- Collaborate with clients and team members to resolve complex technical challenges and ensure successful system deployments.
- Apply knowledge of supporting technologies such as databases, cloud infrastructure, networking, and security protocols to enhance ArcGIS Enterprise solutions.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in implementing and supporting enterprise GIS systems.
- Experience in ArcGIS Enterprise administration.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting technical issues with server systems.
- Proven ability to consistently apply a systematic approach to system engineering based on best practices.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to customers, executives, other technical or non-technical staff.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related STEM field.
- Experience with deploying and supporting ArcGIS Enterprise systems emphasizing advanced deployment strategies such as high availability, disaster recovery, and Kubernetes.
- Experience in designing, deploying, migrating, and providing ongoing support for enterprise GIS systems.
- Experience with deploying systems on Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes platforms.
- Knowledge of technologies that complement ArcGIS Enterprise, including RDBMS, NoSQL, object stores, SAN, NAS, and related storage and database systems.
- Understanding of server-side servicing stack models, authentication methods (native credentials, domain-based, SAML, OIDC), and networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, routing, TLS.
- Ability to lead customers and colleagues with well-defined methods that provide shared understandings and repeatable, successful outcomes at the intersection of Esri and enterprise IT.
- Experience in participating in advanced engagement types, including enterprise migration, system challenge resolution, troubleshooting, system recovery, confidence exercises, disaster recovery, protection, and proof of concept.
- Ability to employ knowledge of technologies that support enterprise GIS systems, including cloud infrastructure, data storage, and information security.
- Knowledge of scripting and/or programming languages such as shell scripting, Python, PowerShell, or similar.
- Experience in system administration with Windows, Linux, and/or Kubernetes platforms.
