Job Description
This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise geospatial databases to support mission-critical applications, primarily for defense and intelligence clients, utilizing Esri technology and best practices. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient database solutions that enhance customer workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with customers to design and implement enterprise geospatial database solutions
- Configure, maintain, and optimize database environments including backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies
- Monitor and tune database performance using industry-standard tools and methodologies
- Implement data security measures, access controls, and compliance standards
- Automate routine database tasks such as data loading, maintenance, and monitoring
- Provide technical guidance on database design, migration, and integration projects
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in database design, administration, and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANA.
- Familiarity with database design principles, data loading techniques, backup and recovery solutions, performance monitoring and tuning, database maintenance, and security.
- Scripting skills in SQL and Python for automation and data workflows.
- Exposure to geospatial concepts such as spatial data types, coordinate systems, and spatial indexing.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical peers and non-technical project managers or customers.
- U.S. citizenship with Active or Current security clearance within the last 2 years, specifically a Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or a related STEM field.
