Job Description
A Systems Engineer responsible for supporting and enhancing private cloud infrastructure, automating workflows, and implementing security and operational solutions using various automation and cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain private cloud infrastructure components using VMware ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V
- Analyze and improve operational workflows and processes
- Build, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure tools and systems
- Automate infrastructure and workflows using scripting and infrastructure as code
- Configure and deploy containerized microservices
- Provide root cause analysis and resolve system issues
- Respond to alerts and perform proactive performance and uptime management
- Automate self-provisioning of resources and services in the private cloud
Requirements
- At least 2 years of systems engineering experience.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Windows or Linux environments.
- Experience working in private on-prem cloud environments running VMware ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Ability to create, edit, and maintain scripting code from Bash, Powershell, Python, and Javascript for infrastructure configuration and building.
- Experience with configuration management systems such as Ansible.
- Understanding of build automation systems such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with infrastructure provisioning tools such as Terraform and Packer.
- Ability to automate workflows via scripting for self-service.
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field.
