Job Description
This role involves partnering with clients to design, implement, and optimize enterprise geospatial databases using Esri technology, supporting mission-critical applications and ensuring data security, performance, and scalability across various environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with customers to design and implement enterprise geospatial database strategies using Esri technology.
- Consult with customers to understand business and technical requirements for database solutions.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize back-end geospatial database environments supporting ArcGIS applications.
- Lead technical discussions on data architecture and database design decisions with clients.
- Implement secure, scalable, and high-availability database solutions for mission-critical applications.
- Monitor and tune database performance using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
- Automate routine database tasks such as data loading, maintenance, and monitoring.
- Provide technical guidance on database design, migration, and integration projects.
Requirements
- 8 years of hands-on experience in database design, administration, and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANA
- Demonstrated experience with database design principles, data loading techniques, backup and recovery solutions, performance monitoring and tuning, database maintenance, and security
- Scripting skills in SQL and Python for automation and data workflows
- Experience with cloud-based database solutions such as AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database
- Basic understanding of geospatial concepts such as spatial data types, coordinate systems, and spatial indexing
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical peers and non-technical project managers or customers
- US citizenship and willingness and ability to maintain a US Security Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or related STEM field
