Job Description
A software engineer responsible for developing and maintaining scalable geospatial workflow management software using Java and Scala, collaborating within an agile team to deliver innovative solutions that enhance productivity for diverse organizations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Scala web services to support user experience and geospatial workflows
- Design and prototype technical solutions ensuring security, performance, scalability, fault-tolerance, and maintainability
- Contribute to team code reviews and write unit tests to ensure high-quality code
- Implement additional functionalities in ArcGIS Workflow Manager using languages such as C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python
- Participate in agile development activities including design reviews, planning, and retrospectives
- Support deployment activities for the SaaS version of ArcGIS Workflow Manager, including AWS deployment
Requirements
- Five (5) years of professional experience in a similar position supporting responsibilities such as developing software components and supporting software development activities.
- Professional experience developing software components using Java or Scala.
- Strong understanding of modern best practices for REST web service design and development, including websockets.
- Working knowledge of AWS infrastructure and best practices.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different technical skillsets and areas of expertise.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a STEM-related field.
