Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for developing innovative GIS solutions, advising customers on complex business challenges, and demonstrating the value of Esri's GIS technology through technical leadership, presentations, and solution design.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on complex GIS solutions and demonstrate the value of GIS technology.
- Build relationships and support the sale of Esri software and solutions through technical presentations and demonstrations.
- Lead technical meetings with enterprise-level decision makers to drive revenue.
- Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in Esri technology and government workflows.
- Design and deliver complex GIS strategies that align with customer business needs.
- Provide configuration guidance, best practices, and technical support for Esri applications.
- Troubleshoot client issues related to Esri system deployment and architecture.
- Share knowledge and coach team members on GIS best practices.
- Develop and deliver presentations for technical and non-technical audiences at conferences and executive engagements.
Requirements
- Five years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- Three years of experience in state and or local government
- Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud computing
- Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
- Understanding of sales and business development processes
- Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments including Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available)
- Experience incorporating real-time information streams with existing GIS data and IT infrastructure (preferred but not mandatory)
- Knowledge of digitalization strategies that include mobile, IoT, advanced analytics and data science, AI, ML, and imagery (preferred but not mandatory)
