Job Description
This role involves managing federal government accounts by leveraging geospatial technology and GIS expertise to build relationships, identify growth opportunities, and deliver solutions that support organizational missions, primarily within the USDA. The position requires strategic account management, industry knowledge, and collaboration to help customers optimize Esri's GIS solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships and develop location strategies for organizations
- Maintain a pipeline of business growth opportunities with new and existing customers
- Leverage social media and other channels to expand professional network
- Participate in trade shows, workshops, and seminars to promote solutions
- Understand customer needs, industry relevance, and key stakeholders
- Use solution selling to address customer challenges and demonstrate value of Esri technology
- Conduct research and professional development to anticipate customer needs and industry trends
- Execute account management and sales processes to achieve results
- Support visual storytelling and propose solutions through techniques like whiteboard sessions
- Collaborate with internal teams to define and implement account strategies
- Resolve issues proactively and take initiative in account management
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of enterprise sales and or relevant consulting or program management experience
- Five (5) years of experience working in or supporting the federal government
- Experience creating partnerships, and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor with customers
- Understanding of account management, account planning and opportunity strategy creation
- Demonstrated knowledge of the federal government, USDA, and new technology trends and the ability to translate this into solutions for customers
- Ability to negotiate, present, and support visual storytelling across all levels of an organization
- Ability to travel domestically 25-50%
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, business administration, or a related field
