Job Description
The Sr. Accountant on the Revenue Accounting team is responsible for managing monthly revenue close activities, including account reconciliations, contract reviews, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and revenue recognition policies, while collaborating cross-functionally and supporting process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly close activities including preparing and recording general ledger entries and conducting reconciliations of revenue accounts
- Review contracts to ensure compliance with GAAP and company revenue policies for domestic and international entities
- Collaborate with legal, professional services, and deal cycle teams on revenue contract negotiations and recognition
- Support year-end closing and assist with annual audit activities
- Identify and implement process and procedure improvements within revenue accounting
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of prior experience in public accounting or a similar position.
- Up to date knowledge of US GAAP relating to revenue recognition ASC 606.
- Experience with general ledger functions and month and year-end close process.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUPS and pivot tables.
- High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with accounting financial statements.
- Ability to work independently.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or in a related field with an Accounting Certificate or qualification that meets the California CPA eligibility requirements.
