Job Description
The Sr. Accountant on the Revenue Accounting team is responsible for managing monthly revenue close activities, including account reconciliations, contract reviews, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and ASC 606, while collaborating cross-functionally and supporting process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly close activities including preparing and recording general ledger entries and conducting reconciliations
- Review contracts to ensure compliance with GAAP and company revenue policies
- Collaborate with legal, professional services, and deal teams on revenue recognition and contract negotiations
- Support year-end close processes and assist with audit activities
- Identify and implement process and procedure improvements
Requirements
- 8 years of prior experience in public accounting or a similar position
- Up to date knowledge of US GAAP relating to revenue recognition ASC 606
- Experience with general ledger functions and month and year-end close process
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUPS and pivot tables
- High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with accounting financial statements
- Ability to work independently
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- US Citizenship
- Bachelor's in Accounting, or in a related field with an Accounting Certificate or qualification, which meets the California CPA eligibility
