Job Description
The Sr. Accountant in Revenue Accounting is responsible for managing monthly close activities, reconciling revenue accounts, reviewing contracts for compliance with GAAP, and supporting process improvements within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly close activities, including preparing and recording general ledger entries and conducting reconciliations
- Review contracts to ensure compliance with GAAP and company revenue policies
- Collaborate with legal, professional services, and deal teams on revenue recognition and contract negotiations
- Support year-end closing and assist with audit activities
- Identify and implement process and procedure improvements
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of prior experience in public accounting or a similar position
- Up-to-date knowledge of US GAAP relating to revenue recognition ASC 606
- Experience with general ledger functions and month and year-end close process
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUPS and pivot tables
- High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with accounting financial statements
- Ability to work independently
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- US Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or in a related field with an Accounting Certificate or qualification that meets the California CPA eligibility requirements
