Job Description
A technical writer responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for ArcGIS Pro software, including tutorials, release notes, and conceptual guides, to help users effectively understand and utilize the GIS application.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and edit documentation for ArcGIS Pro, including conceptual content, workflows, tutorials, settings, configuration help, release notes, and licensing information
- Test software features, understand functionality, and create effective documentation
- Identify and report software issues to development teams and verify fixes through testing
- Contribute to or review documentation for other Esri products as needed
- Respond to user feedback on documentation and update content accordingly
- Produce screen-capture videos demonstrating software functionality and workflows
Requirements
- Two years of experience with GIS concepts and workflows.
- Background in technical or academic writing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to write clearly for a technical audience.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Portfolio submission of writing samples of recent work.
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available).
