Job Description
A technical writer role focused on creating comprehensive documentation, tutorials, and API references for Esri's ArcGIS Maps SDKs, aimed at empowering developers to build geospatial applications for desktop and mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Create documentation for ArcGIS Maps SDKs, including guides, tutorials, API references, and blog content
- Test new SDK features to ensure accurate representation of workflows and endpoints
- Address and triage customer-reported documentation issues
- Engage with the developer community through blogs, videos, and social media
- Support users at conferences and in online forums to promote successful application development
Requirements
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with SDKs and competence with at least one of the Native Maps SDK programming languages - Swift, Kotlin, Flutter, .NET, or Qt
- Ability to pick up new tech concepts quickly
- Ability to break down complex API into clear, concise, and compelling stories and effectively communicate them
- Solid understanding of Git
- Ability to learn and work with industry-standard content management tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, computer science, or a related field
