Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for supporting civilian sciences clients by providing innovative solutions, technical consulting, and strategic guidance using Esri's GIS technology to address complex business challenges and demonstrate the value of spatial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and propose GIS solutions to address customer challenges and demonstrate business value
- Develop strategies that align Esri technology with customer needs
- Become a subject matter expert in civilian sciences and ArcGIS technology
- Communicate effectively with customers about Esri solutions and technical concepts
- Build and maintain relationships with customers through presentations, demonstrations, and support
- Design and deliver technical presentations and best practices for GIS deployment and use
Requirements
- Three years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- One year of experience in supporting civilian sciences or a related scientific community
- Understanding of ArcGIS from a basic IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing
- Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design as well as a general understanding of the business development processes
- Knowledge of basic cloud computing concepts and environments, specifically Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50% of the time, typically 25% or less
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
