Job Description
A GIS developer role focused on designing, building, and documenting geospatial web services and APIs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to support product development and developer outreach in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with teams to understand market demands, developer requirements, and product offerings.
- Create, update, and maintain product documentation, code samples, tutorials, and experiment with new APIs.
- Produce developer-focused product documentation and technical content.
- Gather requirements and use cases from software developers to improve code and documentation.
- Engage in customer outreach activities such as writing blogs and recording videos to support developer integration.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of GIS experience in a scientific or engineering environment, preferably with a focus on application development.
- Proficient with Desktop, Web, and/or Mobile GIS applications such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or other similar tools.
- Understanding of REST services and experience with RESTful APIs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, computer science, or related fields such as physical or social sciences.
