Job Description
The Senior Lead Accountant will oversee financial reporting, ensure compliance with GAAP and regulations, support audits, and lead a team to improve accounting processes within a corporate setting at Esri's headquarters in Redlands, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with local GAAP, laws, and regulations for all entities
- Support the month and year-end close process, including reviewing and posting general ledger entries
- Conduct monthly reconciliations and support management reporting analysis
- Maintain and develop accounting policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices
- Support complex accounting issues, transactions, and provide technical guidance
- Collaborate with FP&A to communicate transactions impacting results and forecasts
- Manage operational accounting functions such as Accounts Payable and Asset management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals
- Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of prior experience in public accounting or a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial consolidation.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze financial statements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex accounting issues to various levels of the organization.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUPS and pivot tables.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or in a related field with an Accounting Certificate or qualification that meets the California CPA eligibility requirements.
- Ability to support and ensure compliance with local GAAP, laws, and regulations during the month and year-end close process for all domestic entities.
- Ability to conduct monthly close functions such as reviewing and posting general ledger entries, reviewing monthly reconciliations, and supporting management reporting analysis.
- Ability to develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Ability to support and implement complex accounting issues and transactions, providing technical guidance and recommendations.
- Ability to interact closely with FP&A and effectively communicate transactions impacting results and forecasts, including short-range outlooks, and annual and long-range plan development processes.
- Ability to support operational areas that impact domestic accounting activities such as Accounts Payable, Assets, and other transactional functions.
- Experience managing, mentoring, and developing a team of accounting professionals, providing feedback, coaching, and career development opportunities.

Base salary range of $76,960 to $127,920 USD
