Job Description
A Controller responsible for overseeing accounting operations at the Saudi Arabia Regional Headquarters, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards, managing financial reporting, and collaborating with global teams to support financial and operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the month and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and complete financial statements in compliance with local GAAP and regulations
- Maintain quality control over financial transactions, reporting, and monthly allocations
- Support treasury and tax activities to ensure local compliance
- Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures aligned with best practices
- Collaborate with the Corporate Finance team on transactions and events impacting financial results and forecasts
- Support operational accounting functions such as accounts payable and asset management for assigned entities
Requirements
- 12 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles
- At least 3 years of management experience in a relevant accounting or finance position
- Strong knowledge of Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA) standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and financial consolidation processes
- Proficient with regular accounting practices and the ability to prepare and analyze financial statements
- Excellent Arabic and English verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex accounting issues to various levels of the organization
- Ability to develop strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Support local treasury and tax activities to ensure adherence to local compliance requirements
- Ownership of the month and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements and compliance with local GAAP, laws, and regulations
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions, financial reporting, and monthly allocations
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures and ensure adherence to best practices
- Collaborate with the Corporate Finance team on a regular basis to communicate events and transactions that may impact results and forecasts including short-range outlooks, annual and long-range plan development processes
- Support operational areas that have a direct impact on international accounting activities such as Accounts Payable, Assets, and other accounting transactional functions for entities under assigned responsibility
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and large ERP systems, preferably SAP
