Job Description
This Accountant role involves managing the month-end close process, reviewing financial statements for international entities, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements, and supporting audits and process improvements within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Close subsidiary financial statements monthly in accordance with US GAAP
- Review and analyze financial statements for compliance with local statutory reporting
- Support international statutory audits and respond to audit requests
- Conform local GAAP financial statements to US GAAP and vice versa
- Review reconciliations, allocations, consolidations, and intercompany transactions
- Assist with month-end, year-end, and annual audit processes
- Identify and implement process and procedure improvements related to accounting functions
Requirements
- Five years of relevant experience including experience with general ledger functions and month and year-end close process
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or in a related field with an Accounting Certificate or qualification, which meets the CPA eligibility requirements
- Ability to understand the transactions required to conform local GAAP financial statements to US GAAP and vice versa
- Experience with reviewing reconciliations, allocations, consolidations, and intercompany transactions
- Ability to support month and year-end close processes and assist with annual audit activities
- Experience in regulatory accounting, audits, and transactional accounting, as needed
- Ability to complete external audit requests by analyzing general ledger accounts and providing information to auditors
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
- High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize demands and meet deadlines
- Strong knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to work independently
- Demonstrates a detail-oriented and hands-on style, with excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize demands to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking with the ability to analyze financial results
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse team
