Job Description
The Air Quality Engineer or Scientist is responsible for managing and executing air quality measurement, monitoring, and research projects nationwide, including sampling, instrumentation, data analysis, and report preparation, often involving travel to field sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute air quality measurement and monitoring projects
- Engineer, test, and operate air quality measurement instrumentation nationwide
- Prepare work plans, quality assurance project plans (QAPPs), health and safety plans, and project reports
- Conduct fieldwork involving air quality research, sampling, and monitoring at various project sites
Requirements
- The individual must be highly motivated with the skills to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in managing and executing projects and tasks across air quality measurement and monitoring initiatives, including community monitoring, near-road monitoring, oil and gas assessments, methods research, exposure investigations, source testing, and other air-related sampling and monitoring activities.
- Proficiency in engineering, testing, and operating air quality measurement instrumentation on projects nationwide.
- Ability to prepare work plans, quality assurance project plans (QAPPs), health and safety plans, and reports for work conducted.
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites to conduct air quality research, sampling, and monitoring, comprising approximately 25-35% of the role, with field assignments lasting up to 3-4 consecutive weeks.
- Strong data processing skills are essential for success in this position.
