Job Description
Supervise and coordinate shift operations at a wood pellet production facility, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency while managing employee activities and equipment troubleshooting in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and coach employees to meet safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency goals
- Coordinate ship loading, conduct shift meetings, and communicate with third-party vendors
- Manage shift schedules, including workstation assignments, employee training, vacations, breaks, and overtime
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues to improve reliability
- Prepare and submit operational reports as required
- Troubleshoot basic control systems and machinery functions
- Follow safety procedures and perform housekeeping audits
- Escalate safety or operational issues promptly
- Communicate operational information to relevant stakeholders
Requirements
- Must be certified to operate mobile equipment inside the Domes and all port mobile equipment.
- Must have at least six months experience in supervision.
- Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to develop and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal job descriptions.
- Experience with wood pellet processes, procedures, heavy equipment, and machinery.
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees.
- Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
- Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for up to twelve hours a day.
- Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
- Willing and able to pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
- High School degree or equivalent.
