The Scale House Attendant Operator at Enviva is responsible for inspecting, weighing, and processing loads at the facility's scale house, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, while providing professional customer service to suppliers and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Perform initial inspection of loads to ensure quality criteria are met
Weigh incoming trucks, issue receipts, and re-weigh trucks upon exit for accurate billing
Ensure safety of the scale area and compliance with safety criteria for loads
Keep the scale and ramps clean and free of debris
Communicate professionally and courteously with suppliers
Assist drivers with the scaling system and safety protocols
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Basic computer knowledge and ability to use a touch-screen computer
Experience in the wood industry
At least 1 year of manufacturing industrial experience
Prior industrial safety knowledge, OSHA training, etc.
Willingness to cross train
Willingness to work overtime to fill in for other scale house operators
Ability to identify logs, hardwood chips, softwood chips and other wood products
Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day
Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
