Job Description
The Area Manager oversees production operations in a sustainable wood bioenergy facility, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement while managing staff, maintenance, and budget responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe working environment
- Meet process and product quality metrics
- Achieve production volume targets
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Provide training and development to team members
- Maintain proper equipment maintenance programs
- Manage tooling and control tooling costs
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Staff and manage personnel in the area
- Maintain set budget and control costs
Requirements
- Associates or college degree in a STEM field of study or equivalent experience required.
- 5 years working in a manufacturing environment required.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical motors, pumps, fans, blowers, and conveyors required.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis (RCA) required.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and process improvement techniques and principles required.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and other applications related to the job required.
