The Area Manager oversees production operations in a sustainable wood bioenergy facility, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement while managing staff, maintenance, and budget responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure a safe working environment
Meet process and product quality metrics
Achieve production volume targets
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Provide training and development to team members
Maintain proper equipment maintenance programs
Manage tooling and control tooling costs
Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Staff and manage personnel in the area
Maintain set budget and control costs
Requirements
Associates or college degree in a STEM field of study or equivalent experience required.
5 years working in a manufacturing environment required.
Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical motors, pumps, fans, blowers, and conveyors required.
Ability to perform root cause analysis (RCA) required.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and process improvement techniques and principles required.
Excellent communication skills and proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and other applications related to the job required.
