The Area Manager oversees production operations in a sustainable wood bioenergy facility, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement while managing staff, maintenance, and budget responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure a safe working environment
Meet process and product quality metrics
Achieve production volume targets
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Provide training and development to team members
Maintain proper equipment and maintenance programs
Manage tooling and control tooling costs
Drive continuous improvement initiatives
Staff and manage the area workforce
Maintain the set budget for the area
Requirements
Associates or college degree in a STEM field of study or equivalent experience required
5 years working in a manufacturing environment required
Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical motors, pumps, fans, blowers, and conveyors required
Ability to perform root cause analysis (RCA) required
Familiarity with lean manufacturing and process improvement techniques and principles required
Excellent communication skills and proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and other applications related to the job required
