Job Description
A Senior Data Engineer responsible for developing and maintaining data solutions to support renewable energy projects, working within a team at ELEKS to deliver software engineering services for a leading UK renewable power company.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements
- Optimize data systems for performance and scalability
Requirements
- Experience as a Data Engineer with a focus on energy sector projects.
- Proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and data architecture.
- Strong knowledge of data processing frameworks and tools such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar technologies.
- Experience working with large-scale data sets and distributed data processing systems.
- Ability to implement data quality, data governance, and data security best practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud for data engineering tasks.
- Proficiency in programming languages relevant to data engineering, such as Python, Scala, or Java.
- Understanding of renewable energy data sources and metrics, particularly related to biomass and hydroelectric power.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data engineering roles.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote or distributed team environment across Poland, Croatia, or Ukraine.
