Job Description
The Sr. Electrical Engineer will design, develop, and support the assembly of battery packs and energy storage systems for e-Zinc's innovative zinc-based energy storage technology, contributing to the commercialization of clean energy solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical architectures for battery pack and BESS products, including component specification, selection, and integration.
- Develop and deliver electrical systems that meet safety, performance, regulatory, and manufacturing requirements.
- Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs using CAD and ECAD tools.
- Define and execute test plans for performance, safety verification, and compliance of BESS engineering samples.
- Support the design and integration of Battery Management Systems (BMS), control, switching, sensing, and monitoring hardware.
- Lead and participate in design reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Develop electrical test fixtures, jigs, and assembly processes for validation and prototype assembly.
- Provide technical support for prototype builds, manufacturing transfer, and vendor qualification.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 10 years of experience in electrical design and development for battery energy storage or industrial power systems.
- Experience designing power conversion DC-DC systems to regulate and manage battery-connected systems.
- Experience in component selection and integration including sensors, relays, and communication interfaces.
- Strong design, problem-solving, and hands-on skills experience in engineering, prototyping, and industrial production environments and field troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of applicable standards for battery and electrical system certification such as UL, IEC, CE.
