Job Description
A Senior Electrochemist role focused on designing and evaluating advanced electrode materials for high-efficiency electrolyzers, conducting experimental research, and contributing to the development of scalable carbon utilization technologies aimed at reducing global CO2 emissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and fabricate advanced electrode materials and structures for high-efficiency electrolyzers
- Perform electrochemical evaluations of electrocatalysts for activity and durability
- Analyze failure modes and develop mitigation strategies
- Improve electrode design for scalability
- Conduct experimental work, analyze data, and interpret electrolyzer performance
- Contribute to experimental planning to enhance electrolyzer performance
- Document technical processes and maintain equipment performance logs
- Participate in R&D initiatives to improve maintenance, quality control, and testing processes
- Foster a culture of safety in the laboratory
Requirements
- Possess at least a PhD or equivalent industry experience in electrochemistry.
- Design and fabricate advanced electrode materials and structures tailored for high efficiency electrolyzers.
- Perform electrochemical evaluations to assess activity and durability of electrocatalysts.
- Analyze failure modes and develop mitigation strategies.
- Improve electrode design to ensure compatibility with scaling processes.
- Conduct hands-on experimental work and analyze, document, post-process, and interpret electrolyzer performance data.
- Contribute to experimental plans to deepen understanding of, and unlock improvements in, electrolyzer performance.
- Document technical processes, maintain detailed maintenance logs, and analyze equipment performance data.
- Pilot contribute to R D-wide initiatives such as improving maintenance strategies to enhance laboratory operations and quality control and testing processes.
- Actively foster a culture of safety in the laboratory.
