A summer internship role supporting semiconductor materials preparation and advanced characterization in a collaborative lab environment, focusing on sample fabrication, material analysis, and device performance related to diamond-based electronics.
Key Responsibilities
Support semiconductor materials preparation and advanced characterization in a cleanroom environment
Assist with sample fabrication and in-depth analysis of material structure and properties
Conduct experiments related to device physics and material analysis
Collaborate with team members to iterate on device fabrication and testing
Take responsibility for device performance and technical problem-solving
Requirements
Support semiconductor materials preparation and advanced characterization in a highly collaborative lab environment.
Assist with sample fabrication alongside in-depth analysis to understand material structure and properties.
Perform cleanroom experimentation, thoughtful iteration, and demonstrate a deep understanding of semiconductor materials device physics.
Operate out of the Stanford office and South San Francisco office as required.
Use appropriate PPE and follow all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Sit, stand for long periods, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, lift below and above shoulders, bend, twist at the waist, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, see, use fine finger manipulation, and complete repetitive motions.
Some tasks may require the use of ladders or stairs.
Some tasks may require driving or the use of foot controls.
Lift, carry, and push/pull up to 50 pounds.
Be a current student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
Demonstrate curiosity, self-drive, motivation by ownership and impact, and enjoy working closely with teammates.
Take responsibility for device performance and tackle technical challenges related to high-power diamond-based electronics.
