Job Description
The Supply Chain Specialist supports vendor management activities including onboarding, performance monitoring, and process improvements within a renewable energy company, ensuring efficient procurement and supplier relationships to support solar and storage projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage supplier onboarding, documentation, and maintain the Approved Vendor List (AVL).
- Identify gaps in the vendor base and source, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers.
- Develop and implement vendor scorecards to monitor performance across key metrics.
- Support process improvements and develop standard operating procedures within the Supply Chain team.
- Build and maintain relationships with current and potential suppliers.
- Partner with underperforming vendors to create corrective action plans and track improvements.
- Complete vendor documentation such as credit applications and onboarding forms.
- Ensure proper credit limits with vendors to prevent business disruption.
- Process change orders to ensure timely invoice payments.
- Serve as backup to Buyers during peak demand or absences.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of sourcing, procurement, or vendor management experience required.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Performs well within a dynamic, evolving environment, adjusting quickly to shifting priorities and unexpected challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal skills able to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external vendors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint with experience using ERP or procurement systems preferred.
