The Supply Chain Specialist supports vendor management activities including onboarding, performance monitoring, and process improvements within a renewable energy company, ensuring efficient procurement and supplier relationships to support solar and storage projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage supplier onboarding, documentation, and maintain the Approved Vendor List (AVL).
Identify gaps in the vendor base and source, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers.
Develop and implement vendor scorecards to monitor performance across key metrics.
Support process improvements and develop standard operating procedures within the Supply Chain team.
Build and maintain relationships with current and potential suppliers.
Partner with underperforming vendors to create corrective action plans and track improvements.
Complete vendor documentation such as credit applications and onboarding forms.
Ensure proper credit limits with vendors to prevent business disruption.
Process change orders to ensure timely invoice payments.
Serve as backup to Buyers during peak demand or absences.
Requirements
2-3 years of sourcing, procurement, or vendor management experience required.
Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines under pressure.
Performs well within a dynamic, evolving environment, adjusting quickly to shifting priorities and unexpected challenges.
Excellent interpersonal skills able to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and external vendors.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint with experience using ERP or procurement systems preferred.
