The position involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance on utility-scale solar PV systems, including troubleshooting, testing, and repairing solar facilities, primarily in the field with a focus on safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on solar PV systems, including testing and repairs
Conduct on-site troubleshooting, testing, and repair of solar photovoltaic facilities
Maintain tools, meters, vehicles, and spare parts inventory
Create service reports and document operational issues
Identify and eliminate safety hazards on-site
Respond to emergency calls and resolve urgent technical issues
Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards during maintenance activities
Requirements
NABCEP Certified Installation Professional certification
3-4 years of experience in PV maintenance, including PV DC operations, AC medium voltage systems, network communications, and monitoring
Experience with operation of SCADA, DAS, and UPS systems
Skilled in the use of testing equipment and tools such as Thermographic Electrical Inspection, IV Curve Tracing, Meggers, and Ground Fault Detection
Ability to troubleshoot and correct problems in all aspects of PV maintenance, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring
Knowledge of National Electrical Code and standard design construction practices
Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams
Proficiency with MS Office suite
Valid Driver’s License
OSHA 10 HR Training
NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the workplace
Must have the ability to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends
Physical ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk for 8-10 hours a day
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
Excellent attendance and punctuality
Understanding of and adherence to safety and quality procedures and practices
Ability to create service reports and maintain spare parts inventory
Ability to identify safety hazards and take appropriate action to remove or eliminate hazards
Must be able to work in the field and in the office, with adherence to safety and quality standards
Must be comfortable with daily local travel and managing work both in the field and remotely
Willingness to support on-site emergency response as directed by supervisor
