Job Description
The Senior Project Manager oversees the full lifecycle of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects, ensuring safe, on-time, and within-budget execution while managing design, construction, and stakeholder coordination in the renewable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Guide utility-scale solar and BESS projects through all phases from development to commercial operation.
- Conduct constructability reviews, site visits, permitting coordination, and early risk assessments in collaboration with development teams.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and cash flow forecasts.
- Oversee the EPC RFP process, including scoping, evaluation, selection, and approval of contractors.
- Manage EPC contractors to ensure safe, high-quality, on-time, and on-budget project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with project contracts such as PPAs, IAs, and land use permits.
- Report on project cash flow, schedules, and risks to management.
- Coordinate the handoff of O&M contracts and ensure project closeout at Final Acceptance.
- Act as a liaison with internal departments, consultants, landowners, and authorities throughout project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or an equivalent field preferred.
- At least 4 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, industrial construction, or capital project management.
- Advanced knowledge of construction management and constructing methods for large projects, contract management, procurement, supply chain management, environmental and building permitting, transportation logistics, and project lifecycles.
- Extensive experience with EPC and BOP construction contracting including RFP process, bid review, and negotiation of contract terms.
- Ability to travel 50% on average.
- Basic knowledge of construction labor relations throughout the US.
