The Senior Associate at Cypress Creek Renewables supports the development and execution of solar and storage projects by managing interconnection requests, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating across teams to ensure efficient and compliant project integration into the grid.
Key Responsibilities
Manage generator interconnection requests and support projects through study phases in Pacific Northwest and WECC
Support Interconnection Agreement negotiations, review milestones, and coordinate with internal teams
Review Resource Solicitation Cluster Study reports to identify costs, network upgrades, and affected systems
Maintain internal tracking of interconnection milestones, costs, upgrade scopes, and security requirements
Review interconnection request submissions and financial models for accuracy and consistency
Monitor regulatory updates, stakeholder proceedings, and transmission planning activities
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely, cost-effective, and technically sound project interconnections
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related technical field
At least 3 years of experience managing interconnection requests and study processes at an infrastructure developer, electric utility, transmission provider, or energy consulting firm, preferably in the Southeast
Direct experience with regulated utility interconnection processes in the Pacific Northwest
Familiarity with Interconnection Agreements
Strong understanding of OATT, transmission system planning, interconnection queue management, and regulatory frameworks such as FERC
Experience reviewing Resource Solicitation Cluster Study (RSCS) reports to identify interconnection costs, network upgrades, contingent facilities, and potential affected systems
Ability to interpret interconnection study results and identify associated risks for non-technical internal teams
Excellent analytical, research, and written communication skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a proactive, solutions-driven approach
Ability to monitor regulatory updates, stakeholder proceedings, and transmission planning activities
Effective collaboration skills to work cross-functionally across technical and commercial teams
