The internship involves monitoring and supporting the operation of utility-scale solar power plants through SCADA systems, gaining hands-on experience in industrial automation, energy systems, and system troubleshooting within a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and support the daily operation of utility-scale PV plants using SCADA systems
Maintain and organize SCADA documentation, network diagrams, and system configurations
Collect, analyze, and report data from SCADA systems
Test, validate, and troubleshoot SCADA alarms, points, and dashboards
Assist with system upgrades, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with engineers, operators, and IT OT teams on projects
Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Basic understanding of SCADA, PLCs, automation systems, or industrial networks is a plus
Familiarity with data analysis tools, databases, or scripting languages such as Python, SQL, etc. is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Networking and firewall experience
Ability to learn quickly and work well in a team environment
Good communication and documentation skills

Work schedule: Hybrid schedule with 3 weeks in Durham, NC
