Job Description
The NetSuite Functional Lead is responsible for managing and optimizing the company's NetSuite financial systems to support finance and accounting operations, ensuring system accuracy, compliance, and process efficiency through configuration, process improvement, and user support.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Functional Lead Owner of NetSuite and financial systems, ensuring configuration, workflows, approvals, and reporting align with best practices and support finance operations.
- Act as the primary liaison for Finance, Accounting, Tax, Procurement, and Business teams regarding system needs, issues, and improvements.
- Partner with business users to gather requirements, test solutions, and document processes for system enhancements and new features.
- Lead training, onboarding, documentation, and change management initiatives to promote NetSuite adoption and process standardization.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes by ensuring system functionality and resolving operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with SOX and internal control frameworks by embedding controls in NetSuite processes and supporting audits.
- Collaborate with the Technical Lead to prioritize system enhancements, manage testing, and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Identify and implement process improvements to automate manual tasks, streamline workflows, and enhance data accuracy and visibility.
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of hands-on functional experience with NetSuite configuration, workflows, reporting, and permissions.
- Deep knowledge of finance and accounting processes including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), financial close, procurement, fixed assets, project accounting, consolidation, and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with systems such as NetSuite Planning Budgeting (NSPB), Oracle FCCS, Avalara, FloQast, and Rillion.
- Experience gathering business requirements and delivering functional solutions in NetSuite.
- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience leading user training and driving system adoption.
- Experience supporting month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring systems function correctly and operational issues are resolved quickly.
- Experience supporting compliance with SOX and internal control frameworks by embedding controls in NetSuite processes, maintaining process documentation, and supporting audits.
