Job Description
The Director of Origination at Cypress Creek Renewables is responsible for building customer relationships, sourcing and structuring renewable energy offtake agreements such as PPAs and VPPAs, and supporting the company's growth in solar and storage projects through strategic negotiations and market engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with market participants and end-users
- Source, structure, and negotiate offtake agreements including PPAs, RFPs, and bilateral contracts
- Develop and execute origination strategy focusing on power solutions for large load customers
- Support the sourcing, negotiation, and execution of long-term PPAs, VPPAs, and commercial structures
- Lead customer outreach, marketing efforts, and industry representation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project development and commercial strategies
- Prepare internal analysis, memos, and presentations related to offtake opportunities
- Stay informed on market trends and regulatory developments impacting renewable energy opportunities
Requirements
- Experience originating and negotiating bilateral, term transactions in organized power markets or trading within U.S. regional transmission organizations (RTOs) or independent system operators (ISOs).
- Significant regulatory or commercial experience with available green tariffs.
- Experience supplying load or buying as an end-user.
- Six or more years of experience with a renewable developer, power marketing firm, corporate energy end-user, utility, or consultant with direct customer engagement experience.
- Experience structuring bilateral offtake transactions.
- High level of fluency in PPA document language, key terms, and ability to structure and negotiate these terms.
- Knowledge of experience with data center power procurement and relationships in this space is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of U.S. energy markets, RTO operations, and electric transmission.
- Knowledge of the physical transmission system and long-term procurement required to enable generation projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area.
- Experience leading contractual analysis and proposal submissions.
- Demonstrated ability to originate, structure, negotiate, and implement PPAs, coordinating with customers, internal stakeholders, and external advisors.
- Ability to identify and formulate risk management strategies for various offtake structures.
- Strong commercial capabilities to balance customer and business needs.
- Professional presence and excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of renewable generation technology, especially solar and battery storage.
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed.

Salary range of $215,000 to $245,000 plus bonus and benefits
