Job Description
The Power Wash Technician is responsible for cleaning aerospace components using high-pressure wash systems, ensuring parts meet cleanliness standards for inspection and assembly, while following safety protocols and participating in in-house training to develop necessary skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate power wash equipment to clean aerospace components such as turbine frames and engine cases.
- Follow safety protocols and detailed work instructions for each component.
- Inspect parts before and after washing to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area.
- Use overhead cranes during the cleaning process.
- Communicate work-related issues and irregularities to supervisors promptly.
Requirements
- Some work experience in a manufacturing environment or similar.
- Knowledge of machines, equipment, and workplace safety.
- Ability or experience following directions and reading work instructions.
- High school or technical school graduate or equivalent; in-process schooling is acceptable.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Capable of handling multiple tasks.
- Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Pre-employment testing requirements that may include fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
- Ability to stand and or sit for portions of the shift.
- Ability to move parts weighing up to 50 pounds using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods.
- Ability to move less heavy parts weighing up to 50 pounds with or without hoists, slings, or carts.
- Frequent exposure to wet and warm conditions.
- Work in environments where noise levels may be loud.
- Use of safety and personal protective equipment is mandatory under some conditions, including ear plugs, safety glasses, face shield, and chemical resistant protective jackets.
- Occasional use of powered and non-powered hand tools.
