Job Description

The Shipping and Receiving position involves managing inbound and outbound turbine engine components, including inspection, documentation, packaging, and safe handling, within a modern aerospace repair facility. It offers opportunities for skill development, growth, and working in a climate-controlled environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow safety protocols and company policies.
  • Receive, sign for, review, and document inbound shipments.
  • Inspect inbound parts for damage or discrepancies and report issues.
  • Verify part numbers, serial numbers, and documentation accuracy.
  • Prepare paperwork and documentation for processing inbound parts.
  • Transport parts and documentation to next operation or storage using material handling equipment.
  • Review outbound shipping documentation and package parts according to instructions.
  • Ensure quality control and inspect outbound parts before shipping.
  • Photograph parts to document condition and damage for quality assurance.
  • Maintain professionalism and positive interaction across departments.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of experience in any type of shipping, receiving, or warehouse capacity.
  • Experience in the use of overhead cranes, pallet jacks, forklifts, lift trucks.
  • Exposure to domestic and/or international shipping of parts.
  • Ability or experience following directions and reading work instructions.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clear driving record for the past 3 years, with submission to a Motor Vehicle Record Check upon offer of employment and annually thereafter; unacceptable records include DUI, Reckless Operations, and Fleeing the Scene of an Accident.
  • High school or technical school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks.
  • Work in varying positions, including standing and sitting for portions of the shift.
  • Ability to move parts weighing up to 50 pounds using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods, and move less heavy parts with or without such equipment.
  • Follow general shop safety procedures including the use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, gloves, and hearing protection.
  • Use powered and hand-held tools frequently.
  • Use of safety and personal protective equipment is mandatory under some conditions.
