Job Description
The Material Handler is responsible for tracking, organizing, and moving turbine engine parts through repair processes in a modern facility, supporting production control and ensuring timely delivery and storage of parts, while working alongside experienced team members and receiving comprehensive training.
Key Responsibilities
- Track parts through repair processes and manage their staging and storage
- Assist with delivering parts to other departments and external couriers
- Organize and verify staging areas, ensuring accuracy of part information
- Use electronic tracking systems, including RFID technology, for part identification
- Provide and manage equipment like skids, carts, and racks based on departmental needs
- Coordinate shipping, receiving, and part movement to ensure timely processing
- Assist with scrapping parts, including verification and documentation
- Follow safety protocols and work in a climate-controlled environment
- Handle physical movement of parts, including lifting and using handling equipment
- Communicate effectively with team members and participate in training programs
Requirements
- One year's experience in a manufacturing environment or similar.
- Experience in the use of skids, pallet jacks, and forklifts lift trucks.
- Ability or experience following directions and reading work instructions.
- Demonstrated ability or experience in being able to effectively communicate with team members, including participating in structured training.
- High school or technical school graduate or equivalent.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Capable of handling multiple tasks.
- Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Work in difficult positions from time to time, including standing and/or sitting for portions of the shift.
- Move parts weighing up to 50 pounds using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods.
- Use powered and non-powered hand tools frequently.
- Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Pre-employment testing requirements that may include fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
- Display a positive attitude and degree of professionalism as work is accomplished across the entirety of the facility.
