Job Description

The Material Handler is responsible for tracking, organizing, and moving parts through the repair process in a modern aerospace manufacturing facility, supporting production control and ensuring timely delivery of components. The role involves physical tasks, inventory management, and working as part of a team to maintain efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track parts through repair processes and manage their staging and storage
  • Assist with delivering parts to other departments and external couriers
  • Organize and verify staging areas and part information
  • Use electronic tracking systems, including RFID technology, for part identification and location
  • Provide and manage equipment like skids, carts, and racks based on departmental needs
  • Coordinate shipping, receiving, and part movement to ensure timely processing
  • Assist with scrapping parts and verifying documentation
  • Maintain safety protocols and proper handling of parts and tools
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and control personnel to maintain scheduling and inventory accuracy

Requirements

  • One year's experience in a manufacturing environment or similar.
  • Experience in the use of skids, pallet jacks, and forklifts lift trucks.
  • Ability or experience following directions and reading work instructions.
  • High school or technical school graduate or equivalent.
  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Pre-employment testing requirements that may include fitness for duty testing and a vision exam.
  • Work in difficult positions from time to time, including standing and/or sitting for portions of the shift.
  • Move parts weighing up to 50 pounds using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods.
  • Use powered and non-powered hand tools frequently.
