Job Description
The Material Handler is responsible for tracking, organizing, and delivering parts through the repair process in a modern aerospace manufacturing facility, supporting production control and ensuring efficient workflow through physical and electronic management of turbine engine components.
Key Responsibilities
- Track parts through repair processes and manage their staging and storage
- Assist with delivering parts to other departments and external couriers
- Organize and verify parts in staging areas, ensuring accuracy of part and serial numbers
- Use electronic tracking systems, including RFID technology, for part identification and location
- Provide and manage equipment like skids, carts, and racks based on departmental needs
- Coordinate shipping, receiving, and documentation for parts and customer requests
- Participate in scrapping and disposal of parts in coordination with engineering and quality teams
- Maintain safety protocols and proper handling of parts and tools
- Move parts and materials safely using appropriate handling equipment
Requirements
- One year's experience in a manufacturing environment or similar.
- Experience in the use of skids, pallet jacks, and forklifts lift trucks.
- Ability or experience following directions and reading work instructions.
- High school or technical school graduate or equivalent.
- Careful attention to detail.
- Capable of handling multiple tasks.
- Basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
