Job Description

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing marine and industrial inventory, including ordering, organizing, tracking, and issuing parts for repair orders, while ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficient operations in a modern aerospace repair environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order, organize, store, track, and issue inventory for repair orders
  • Safely secure and track components and maintain records back to the manufacturer
  • Receive incoming supplies, sign receipts, and review documentation
  • Forecast, procure, manage, and distribute inventory to meet demand while minimizing stock levels
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and stakeholders
  • Maintain inventory and purchase order status, pricing, and delivery updates
  • Perform material audits to ensure inventory accuracy and availability
  • Process parts for return to customers and handle customer-owned parts for storage and return
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory transactions, receipts, locations, and disbursements
  • Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement projects

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be capable of, or have experience in creating and maintaining neat, orderly records and basic knowledge of computers and standard software programs.
  • Ability or experience following directions and reading work instructions.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks.
  • Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to ensure full compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Receive incoming supplies, sign receipts, and review applicable documentation.
  • Forecast, procure, manage inventory, and distribute inventory to meet demand while keeping inventory at minimum established levels.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain inventory and purchase order status pricing information and communicate delivery updates internally.
  • Perform material audits to ensure counts are correct and key departments are aware of the inventory available for use.
  • Process parts that are no-work performed NWP for return to the customer.
  • Process and safely store customer parts that have been removed from customer owned engines and return when requested.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of all inventory receipts, transactions, physical location, and disbursements and report to other internal customers as necessary.
  • Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement projects.
  • Work in varying positions, including standing and sitting for portions of the shift.
  • Move parts weighing up to 50 pounds using hoists, slings, carts, or other handling methods; move less heavy parts with or without hoists, slings, or carts.
  • Follow general shop safety procedures including the use of safety glasses, safety toe shoes, gloves, and hearing protection when required.
  • Use of safety and personal protective equipment is mandatory under some conditions.
