A Staff Quality Engineer specializing in dimensional management and quality strategy, responsible for ensuring manufacturability and verifiability of first-of-a-kind designs through geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, primarily for fusion magnet production and related projects.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the subject matter expert for dimensional management and quality strategy in magnet production and the SPARC project.
Ensure novel designs are translated into manufacturable and verifiable hardware through geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD T).
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to develop inspection infrastructure, tooling, and process controls.
Apply GD T principles to address real-world fabrication challenges and develop risk-informed quality solutions.
Requirements
Experience serving as a subject matter expert (SME) for dimensional management and quality strategy in a manufacturing environment, specifically related to HTS Magnet production and the SPARC Project.
Technical authority and expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD T), ensuring that novel, first-of-a-kind designs are translated into manufacturable and verifiable hardware.
Ability to take good enough prints and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to develop inspection infrastructure, tooling, and process controls required to build them.
Proven experience applying GD T to real-world fabrication challenges to ensure project success through pragmatic, risk-informed quality solutions.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inspection techniques, and quality control methods relevant to high-precision hardware fabrication.
Compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information (Export Control Laws), with any employment offer contingent upon compliance.
