Job Description

A Senior Techno-economic Analyst at Commonwealth Fusion Systems is responsible for developing and refining economic models to evaluate the financial viability and commercial potential of fusion power plants, supporting business development and stakeholder communication efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine economic models to evaluate the financial viability and commercial desirability of fusion power plants
  • Conduct sensitivity analyses on economic models to identify opportunities for cost and performance improvements
  • Collaborate with internal teams to incorporate economic insights into design, engineering, and R&D processes
  • Support business development efforts by communicating the economic benefits of fusion energy to customers and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Experience in developing models critical to evaluating the financial viability and commercial desirability of fusion power plants.
  • Ability to work closely with internal team members to create and evolve economic models for fusion power plant evaluation.
  • Proficiency in running sensitivity analysis on economic models related to fusion power plants.
  • Experience in identifying opportunities for improvement in techno-economic models and analyses.
  • Ability to provide input to design, engineering, and R&D teams on the impacts of economic factors and analysis results.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting communication of the benefits of fusion energy to customers and key stakeholders.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments and aligning with organizational values of integrity, execution, impact, and self-critique.
  • Legal compliance knowledge related to U.S. export control laws concerning controlled or protected technologies or information, with the ability to ensure adherence to these laws during employment.
