The Manager NDT RSO is responsible for overseeing nondestructive testing operations and radiation safety at Commonwealth Fusion Systems, ensuring the successful execution of NDT inspections and managing the NDT team to support fusion power plant development.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain NDT capabilities to ensure successful delivery of fusion projects and future scaling.
Execute all NDT inspections, including UT UTPA, RT CR DR, ET, PT, MT, and VT.
Manage the NDT technician team and oversee their scheduling and credentialing.
Serve as the industrial Radiation Safety Officer for RT activities onsite.
Interface with corporate EHS Radiation Safety, project managers, vendors, manufacturing, construction, and tokamak assembly to coordinate personnel assignments.
Requirements
Experience in developing and maintaining NDT capabilities to ensure successful delivery of SPARC and future scaling for ARC power plants.
Proven ability to execute all NDT inspections, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), UTPA, Radiographic Testing (RT), Computed Radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), Eddy Current Testing (ET), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Visual Testing (VT).
Experience managing a team of NDT technicians and serving as the industrial Radiation Safety Officer for all RT activities onsite at Devens.
Ability to interface directly with corporate EHS Radiation Safety, project managers, design teams, vendors, manufacturing, construction, and tokamak assembly to ensure personnel are scheduled and assigned to jobs as applicable to their credentials.
Knowledge of and compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information (Export Control Laws).
