A hands-on Manufacturing Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for high-temperature superconducting magnets in a fast-paced, first-of-a-kind environment, primarily working during weekend shifts to ensure safe and efficient production operations.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality.
Serve as the technical lead for weekend manufacturing operations, ensuring safe and efficient production.
Collaborate with design engineers, production staff, quality assurance, and supply chain teams.
Troubleshoot and resolve first-time manufacturing challenges, turning them into standardized, repeatable processes.
Lead and motivate the weekend team to maintain high performance and focus during shift.
Requirements
Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality across the production line.
Ability to lead and coordinate manufacturing operations in a First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) manufacturing environment, including turning first-time challenges into standardized, repeatable processes.
Proven ability to lead through influence, make sound decisions under pressure, and bring clarity to ambiguity in a fast-moving environment.
Hands-on experience as a Manufacturing Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-technology manufacturing environment, preferably involving complex or novel products such as high-temperature superconducting magnets.
Ability to collaborate closely with design engineers, production staff, quality assurance, and supply chain teams.
Strong leadership skills to set the tone for the weekend team, keep technicians focused and engaged, and operate at a high level.
Experience working in a First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) manufacturing environment, including designing products while building the machine.
Physical ability to work onsite during scheduled shifts (Friday through Sunday, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm or 6:00 pm - 6:00 am).
Compliance with U.S. export control laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, with employment contingent on such compliance.
Benefits & Perks
Salary range of $126,000 - $212,000 including 15% shift differential for Friday-Sunday 6:00 pm - 6:00 am shift
Salary range of $100,000 - $160,000 including 10% shift differential for Friday-Sunday 6:00 am - 6:00 pm shift
Work schedule on weekends (Friday through Sunday)
