Job Description

A hands-on Manufacturing Engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for high-temperature superconducting magnets in a fast-paced, first-of-a-kind environment, primarily during weekend shifts. The role involves leading weekend production operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and process standardization while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality.
  • Serve as the technical leader for weekend manufacturing operations, ensuring safe and efficient production.
  • Collaborate with design engineers, production staff, quality assurance, and supply chain teams.
  • Lead and influence the weekend team, maintaining focus and engagement of technicians.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve first-time challenges, turning them into standardized, repeatable processes.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality across the production line.
  • Ability to serve as the magnet owner with overall accountability for the shift.
  • Experience collaborating closely with design engineers, production staff, quality assurance, and supply chain teams.
  • Availability to work the weekend shift from Friday through Sunday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
  • Experience leading manufacturing operations in a First-of-a-Kind (FOAK) manufacturing environment, including turning first-time challenges into standardized, repeatable processes.
  • Ability to lead through influence, make sound decisions under pressure, and bring clarity to ambiguity in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience managing or supervising technicians, keeping them focused, engaged, and operating at a high level.
  • Proven ability to bring order to chaos in a manufacturing environment where the product is being designed and built simultaneously.
  • Compliance with U.S. export control laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information, with any employment offer contingent on such compliance.

Benefits & Perks

Salary range of $121,000 - $203,000 including 10% shift differential
Work schedule from Friday to Sunday, 6:00 am - 6:00 pm
