Job Description
The Senior Director of Facilities, Maintenance, and Construction oversees the operations, strategic planning, and construction of existing and new facilities for Commonwealth Fusion Systems, supporting their mission to develop fusion energy. The role involves managing teams, coordinating with external partners, and engaging with public officials to facilitate facility development and expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee operations of existing facilities and manage construction of new facilities locally and internationally.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for facilities maintenance, operations, and construction.
- Manage teams of facilities maintenance professionals, project managers, space planners, and external contractors.
- Coordinate with local and state officials, property developers, general contractors, architects, and environmental experts.
Requirements
- Experience leading operations of existing facilities and managing the construction of new facilities, including local, national, and international expansion.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategic planning and tactical operations for facilities management.
- Experience managing a collaborative team of facilities maintenance professionals, project managers, space planners, and outside contracting firms.
- Ability to operate, maintain, and build offices and industrial factory space.
- Experience interacting with local and state officials, property developers, general contractors, architects, and civil environmental experts.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing facilities operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to serve as a key public-facing representative for the company in dealings with external stakeholders.
- Compliance with U.S. laws concerning the export of controlled or protected technologies or information (Export Control Laws).
